Conversion of hard copy Legal records to SGML format.

Legislative assemblies, legal proceedings, laws of legislative assemblies.

Content:
Creating a SGML tagged database from 17th Century Journal of the House of Representatives and Journal of the Senate through today. These Documents are basically in printed form and do not have electronic copies. The source material consists of photocopies from the originally published journals.

Advantage:
The SGML tagged database will facilitate electronic access to these legal records as well as their electronic delivery via the Web.

Encoding:
The encoding is using the mark-up requirements of proprietary JOURNALS.DTD.
